Announcement of "The Great 8"- 6:30pm at the first Marion by Moonlight in City Square Park.

March 24                               Night of Ideas- Meetings held throughout Marion to continue gather ideas for the future

 

March 27                               Selection Committee Announced

                                                Deadline for Submission of Ideas

 

April 1- 30                               Selection Committee reviews all ideas and narrows list to 100 ideas

 

May 5, 7                                 Community Narrowing Night- Community forum where we will narrow our list of 100 ideas down to 30

 

May 8- 22                               Selection Committee narrows 30 ideas to THE GREAT 8

 

June 4                                    GREAT 8 Celebration- Announcement of ideas

 

Summer/ Fall                         Community groups step forward to take ownership of the 8 projects and begin to move them ahead.

Visioning Project Timeline

Marion is currently undergoing a planning and design process to establish a future vision for the Marion Central Corridor. This new Corridor Master Plan will guide public and private sector decision making and development in our Central Core.
